We’re two Melbourne mums who know firsthand how quickly wardrobes fill up especially when it comes to clothing. What started as a simple mission to sell our own family’s pre-loved items soon became something much bigger.

As we began selling clothing online, friends, family, and members of our community started telling us the same thing: “I’d love to sell my clothes, but I just don’t have the time.”

Between work, family life, and everything else that comes with modern living, many people have wardrobes full of quality clothing sitting unused. Selling each item individually can be overwhelming, time-consuming, and often gets pushed to the bottom of the to-do list. That’s where Archive Room comes in.

We take the stress out of selling by managing the entire process on your behalf. From photographing and listing items to communicating with buyers, packaging orders, and arranging postage, we handle the hard work so you don’t have to.

Our goal is simple: help people declutter their wardrobes, earn money from clothing they no longer wear, and give quality fashion a second life.

Archive Room Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Archive Room. By using our services as either a seller or buyer, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Our Service

Archive Room is a consignment business that sells pre-loved clothing and accessories on behalf of individuals. We manage the photography, listing, promotion, buyer communication, packaging, postage, and administration of items submitted for sale.

2. Item Acceptance

Archive Room reserves the right to accept or decline any item submitted for sale.

Items must be:

• Clean and in good condition
• Authentic and legally owned by the seller
• Free from significant damage, stains, odours.

We may refuse items that do not meet our quality standards or are unlikely to sell.

3. Pricing

Archive Room will determine listing prices based on brand, condition, market demand, and comparable sales data.

We reserve the right to adjust pricing throughout the listing period to maximise the likelihood of a sale.

4. Commission

Archive Room retains 40% of the final sale price as commission for providing our service.

5. Seller Payments

Payments will be made via bank transfer.

Seller payments will be processed on the first of every month.

6. Unsold Items

If an item remains unsold for an extended period of 3 months Archive Room may:

• Reduce the sale price
• Return the item to the seller
• Discuss donation or alternative arrangements with the seller

7. Authenticity

By submitting items, sellers confirm that all items are authentic and legally owned by them.

8. Storage & Item Care

Archive Room takes reasonable care when storing, handling, and selling items.

While every effort is made to protect submitted items, Archive Room is not liable for loss, theft, accidental damage, fire, flood, or events beyond our reasonable control.

9. Buyer Information

Archive Room specialises in pre-loved second-hand clothing.

Buyers acknowledge that:

• Items may show minor signs of wear consistent with second-hand use
• Colours may vary slightly due to photography and screen settings
• Sizing can vary between brands

We encourage all buyers to carefully review item descriptions, photographs, measurements, and condition notes prior to purchasing.

10. Returns & Refunds

Due to the nature of pre-loved and second-hand clothing, we do not offer refunds, exchanges, or returns for change of mind, incorrect sizing, or personal preference.

However, if an item has been materially misdescribed or differs significantly from the listing description, buyers must contact Archive Room within 24 hours of receiving the item so the matter can be reviewed.
